CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS:

American Legion of Escalon invites you to commemorate Veterans Day with us this Saturday, Nov 10th. A parade on Main Street starts at 10:00 AM, followed by a memorial at the Community Center and BBQ chicken/rib dinner. For tickets see Darrell Voortman, Case Den Ouden or at the door. See you at the Parade!

Last week, after the service, we were privileged to announce that Joe Veldstra has been hired as our new Church Administrator.  Please pray for Joe as he makes this transition and as we welcome him to our staff. He will begin in December.

Samaritan’s purse is once again doing Operation Christmas Child, where you can fill a box of gifts for children in impoverished nations.  If you would like to participate, please fill a box (either your own or take one from our counters) and take to Escalon Covenant Church by November 19th.  Also, please note carefully the new restrictions on what can be packed. Compton Mission Trip: The Upper Room is combining with the Evangelism Committee to sponsor a church-wide mission trip to Compton, CA July 13-21, 2019. Pastor Patrick is seeking

an administratively minded co-leader for this trip. Please contact Pastor Patrick (209-289-3989) if you feel called to fill this vital role.

Attention: All knitters and crocheters, and want to be’s, Thursday’s, 9:30, join us for prayer, devotional, knitting, crocheting and fellowship, all items go to premies, elderly, sick and shut ins, held in the upstairs classroom at Church, contact Diana Dunn 209-988-5006

RC Boosters Annual Turkey & Pie Fundraiser is going on now for Thanksgiving! The Rykert Trio is coming to Almond Valley CRC on Nov. 25 at 6pm. Come and enjoy singing hymns and listening to a unique blend of family harmonies. The Rykerts enjoy singing contemporary & southern gospel, anthems and classic hymns. It will be an evening of great music and singing! A Love offering will be taken.

Ripon Christian Middle School is presenting the musical, Alice in Wonderland, Jr. on Thursday, November 15th at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 17th at 2:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. Tickets at the Middle School / High School office and at www.tickets.rcschools.comor at the door 30 minutes prior to the performance.

The Ripon Oratorio Society will be celebrating the Christmas season with the annual presentation of Handel’s “Messiah” on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018.  “Messiah” rehearsals will be held on four Sunday afternoons:  November 4, 11, 18, and 25, at 3 pm @ Immanuel CRC in Ripon. Singers of all ages needed and welcome Singers are asked to contribute a small membership fee.

 

Thanksgiving Volunteers Needed for Escalon’s Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

Needed: Volunteers for food preparation, table set up, to go box preparation, food delivery, dining room staff and clean up.

The Close-Up Club of Ripon Christian High School is sponsoring a night of fun and fellowship Saturday, December 1, at Almond Valley CRC beginning at 7 pm at our 4th Annual “Trivia Challenge” for an exciting evening of trivia and dessert. To participate and to help support those students going to DC in April 2019. The price is $25 per person if you would like to be assigned to a team, or $150 for a table of 6. Any person or business may sponsor a table for $200, which includes entrance of 6 contestants, public recognition, and entrance into a drawing for a prize pack and gourmet snacks. Registration forms are available from student members of the Close Up Club, Mr. Sherwin Heyboer at sheyboer@rcschools.com, or from the high school office.
